June is a great opportunity to check in with your clients and review the progress they’ve made toward the financial goals you helped them set for the beginning of the year. And atWORK’s scientific calculators are a powerful tool to help you to provide great advice during these conversations.
In the spirit of Youth Month, we’ll be showcasing our Education Calculator this week. As you well know, education is one of the most effective ways of improving the future of our youth. The sooner your clients start planning for education for their beloved dependents, the better.
Recent data shows
It’s good practice for advisors to encourage all their clients to invest in their dependents’ education. Along with establishing an emergency fund and investing for retirement, this is one of the fundamentals of financial planning.
According to data from Old Mutual, the average tuition fee to send a graduate to university in South Africa is R55,900 in 2023, which is expected to accelerate to R95,700 by 2030 – and reach R177,200 by 2038. (That’s what 8% annual inflation will do to you!) This data proves that advising your clients to make provision for education as early as possible is invaluable.
