atWORK was found as a cloud-based client solutions for financial advisors, back in 1998 when nobody even knew what the cloud was! We have been at the forefront of innovation ever since, continuously fine-tuning our software and offering cost-effective, smart solutions for businesses that share our vision of accelerating success.
In 2000 we were acquired by Saambou and we implemented a client management compliance solution for their network of advisors. At this time, we became one of the first third-party vendors to successfully integrate with Astute.
After three prosperous years with Saambou, we bought back our independence in 2003 and went straight to work adding to our financial planning toolkit. We re-entered the advisor market in 2005 and began attracting various corporate clients, including Metropolitan, PPS and Aon. Absa incorporated atWORK into their Wealth business in 2009, and Liberty joined the stable in 2014.
Throughout our journey, we have never lost sight of three core principles: service, value and security. In 2018, atWORK achieved ISO 27001 certification – the highest international data security standard for information management systems.
We also launched a new version of our software – rebuilt from the ground up using open systems architecture that can incorporate third-party APIs for dramatically improved usability and customisation. We have also been able to implement several new features as technology has progressed.
When Covid struck and the world went into lockdown, our clients relied on us to get them through it. We did that, and even helped them transform their businesses. As a technology company, we are used to disruptive change and we are always looking to implement new and better ways of doing things.
We were born in South Africa and we have a footprint all over the country, with users in all nine provinces. Our head office might be in Gauteng, but we have staff in KZN, the Western Cape, the Northern Cape… Wherever your clients are, atWORK can assist. At the same time, our technology knows no borders.
